Labor Day marks the end of summer in the US. It has been a wonderfully rich summer for the team at Anawim Arts with time for travel and rest. We hope you have had the same. We are looking forward to resuming a busy schedule for the second half of the year, but first we want to invite you to enjoy some of the art and writing from the event that began the summer for us.
On June 11, 2022, Anawim Arts sponsored an Art Exhibit in Wheaton, Illinois as part of the celebration of the Wheaton Franciscan’s anniversary event. The live tented exhibit featured creation-centered artwork in recognition of the Franciscan dedication to working for “justice, peace and integrity of creation.” Most of the artwork from the exhibit is on our website where you can see it on the 2022 Spring Art Exhibit Portfolio Page. The Exhibit also featured a wonderful collection of poems that are featured in a special edition of our online journal.
See samples from the exhibit below.
And stay tuned! In the next few days we will be announcing the theme for our 2022 Fall Art Show and Journal. We are also planning to host several Creating Space events and add some new interactive artists’ workshops.
Oh, to be a Bird
Oh, to be a bird
seems light and free, but easy?
Trusting, letting go,
singing songs, announcing dawn,
leaving wisdom with the wind.
