My photo selections depict various types of play in daily life from the animal, youth and adult worlds. Each photo evokes a sense of joy and contentment that we often find when we let ourselves play.
A Grand Adventure: A slug embarks on a grand adventure and pauses a moment to peer over the bridge one last time.
Portrait of Teenage Boy: A teenage boy plays on a cell phone at a comic book shop
Summer Camp: A woman wades peacefully in the lake while another drums to the sound of the wake.
I believe in the healing power of nature which has led to the focus of my photography on the natural world. As I spend time with nature, observing the beings with me, I am often inspired to capture their spirit with my lens. I specialize in native plants, local wildlife and the landscapes of our beautiful Illinois parks and preserves. I can often be found chasing a sunset for just the right shot or watching bees for hours on end. I am a lifelong nature lover and certified forest therapy guide trained through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs. I volunteer with several environmental conservation groups and serve as a nonprofit CEO. Our natural world is full of wonders that bring me peace every day.
