Susan Daily has always been passionate about drawing. Born in Melbourne Australia, she began drawing, praying, and illustrating the gospel stories in high school, dreaming that one day she would illustrate a Bible. This was the beginning of her interest in religious symbolism.
Susan’s vibrant artistic vision can be seen in her silk paintings and graphic design on her Featured Artist page on this website. She shares her skills with teachers and parishes in workshops and through the publications of her graphics.
For years Susan has volunteered as an art mentor, empowering Aboriginal women through the sacredness of art. In 2014, she was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in recognition for her commitment to the arts, building independence among Aboriginal communities and developing a genuine Australian religious art form. We featured one of the art centres, Merrepen Arts on our featured artists page.
Susan has been a member of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary since the 1960s. She studied Fashion Design and Graphic Art.
On April 18, 2021, Karen Hurley Kuchar interviewed Susan Daily about her artistic journey.
