With the flavor of metal

Through the Congregation of Jesus (Cuba), Anawim Arts is pleased to share an art show from young artists in Cuba.
“With the Flavor of Metal” is the 8th exhibition by the creative group MirArte. It presents a series of 17 unique sculptures in which wire and tin regain a voice. These materials, commonly destined to be forgotten in landfills, are meticulously transformed by the group into works of remarkable delicacy and expressiveness. Each piece, of varying dimensions, challenges our perception of waste, inviting deep reflection on consumption, permanence, and the hidden beauty within what appears unusable.
Through wire, which traces lines in space defining volumes and contours, and through tin, whose oxidized or cut surface captures light in a unique way, the exhibition creates a dialogue between fragility and resilience. These sculptures do not merely represent forms; they are “physical testimonies of a second chance.”
“With the Flavor of Metal” is, in essence, a poetic and visual argument in favor of recycling and the circular economy. It confronts us with the elegance that can emerge from discarded materials, proposing that caring for the environment is not only a practical necessity, but also an act of creativity and respect.
This exhibition is an invitation to savor a different kind of flavor: that of awareness, transformation, and hope forged by human hands from what the world no longer wanted.
