A poem from Camille A. Balla

The Windchimes

The windchimes start—
stop—
begin again

with rhythms
repetitions
and rests—

sounds of the Far East
in concert
with a September breeze.

I sit here
listening
thinking

of possible words
for this song
of the gentle wind

feeling calm
release
peace.

But the quiet I hear
says Be still.
Listen.

Enjoy the rhythms
the repetitions
the rests.

Be
for a while
like the windchimes.
