Carolyn Faivre works with a variety of media. In The Grandmothers, she works with hand-made dyes from locally sources materials, which draw out the depth of the interwoven trees in the silkscreen image.

“We are all responsible to witness and remember this woman (and all women-their
children–all of humanity) to witness and remember the ongoing harm and destruction. We are the
ones called to ‘re-member’. Are we willing to be the people committed to putting back together, a
continuous wabi-sabi of seeking beauty from the destruction?”
