Naomi Pridjian uses poetry as a means of inquiring into the subject of her visual works.
Magdalen Moon
I wonder
how did she feel
all the days of her life
rolling on toward you
and me and eternity,
did she sing?
Eclipse
It was all but a mystery
I could not say until in the silence of
the night a diaphanous light
swept across my face with memory
of knowing and yet all of it
still for me a mystery.
Into the Night
In the night
when my heart lies heavy
as a stone, and I cannot sleep
for its smooth cold weight on my mind,
I ask once again, my God,
may I rest with you for just a while?
