Anke considers herself a storyteller, filling her paintings with rich and vibrant colors, varied depths and striking lines. Her abstract impressionistic paintings integrate the chaos, connection and close proximity absorbed from her travels around the world and her European roots.

Not faithful representations of specific scenes, but suggestions of my inner voyage. My paintings are dreamscapes that convey the feeling of place. In trying to find a narrative in my work I find this to be a fascinating subject that offers endless complexities.”
