Jen Bromham shares her thoughts about her submissions:

“These two paintings express my experiences of exploring the theme, Dare to Dream: Brokenness Needs Beauty. In essence, these two works show ‘the Land – the Earth’ which we call home.

“The dark purple movements suggest the distress and brokenness  that comes from the destruction of war on our planet and its impact on our everyday lives. As I worked further into the paintings, the brokenness was transformed by the vibrant reds and oranges. These colours represent how our planet is resilient and can be transformed by brokenness into a new sense of beauty.  The reds, oranges and purples represent land in its act of creativity and the land is offset by the ever present sky.   In this work the blueness of the sky – with its clouds – gives hope and meaning beyond our present reality.

“I would like the viewers of this work to imagine walking into a new beauty! Who knows what we may find as we engage with the vibrant colourful land where brokenness can be overcome.

“Let’s respect the Earth and how our planet is ever ready to renew and to find beauty.”
