Julie Wachowski – from the 2022 Fall Journal

Fall 2022

Now Approaching 60

I was wrong.
Wisdom didn’t arrive.
Look! A package,
unwrap it now.

Illness, aging, death –
Buddhists worship them.
Reminders of time
passing us now.

Each leaving hurt.
There’s space ahead
I don’t understand.
It’s different now.

Everything keeps changing!
the child cries.
There’s your wisdom.
Embrace it

Julie Wachowski is a wrtier from Wheaton, IL. “My poem asks the reader to seek the wisdom of embracing change, even though it hurts.”
